I like photo number 1 because it makes me wonder how snow in the background ended up being formed that way. It makes me think how amazing nature is. The photo number 2 is interesting because footsteps show me that somebody was walking towards the direction to the bottom but Kang He took this photo from the opposite direction. This is interesting and also mysterious because I do not know whose footsteps they are. Are they Kang He’s? The photo number 6 is also interesting since there is a photo of the dictator of North Korea. I know him since I am from South Korea. I would vote for photo number 1 since it was an excellent work he found it and took an opportunity to take that photo in a cold weather.
Hi Kang, Your photos seem to be half specific things and the other half are questionable as to what I'm looking at; which works well with the photos that combine that specificity with mystery. I specifically liked 15 because that photo feels like it's split in half almost perfectly. I don't know entirely what the spirals are on but it was definitely a photo that I looked at in detail, checking out each spiral. It reminded me of going to an amusement park and how everything there is whimsical and no specific shape. I liked the grey tones to the photo instead of making them lighter and closer to white. My favorite photo is number 8. The fact that the hand isn't entirely in focus and the background is blurry I think really fits with the mystery of the project. I felt like I could place myself in the photo as if it was my hand sticking out. I think this was another photo where you used grey tones well to highlight specific parts of the picture.
Hi Kang, I really liked you photo 17. It is perfectly fits to our theme which was mystery. It looks scary and mysterious. I like how you captured the half of building with night sky. Also photo 8 and 9 are mysterious as well. the most of your pictures have really good focal points which I really liked. And when I saw photo 8, It makes me to know the story behind it. A hand is reaching out for something, I wanted to know what it is.
My favorite pictures that you have posted are #8 and #17. Photo #8 is very mysterious, It appears that the middle two fingers of the hand are dipping or getting sucked into something. Yet, the texture of the background makes it look like a solid form. The tonal range is great in this photo, and your use of shadows and reflections really improved its overall composition. The construction fits the conception; the visual arrangements of the subject makes me wonder what the photographer is touching. It almost makes me anxious because I don't know what it is.
When I first signed up for this blog I saw that your photo #17 was one of the first posted, and I liked it right away. Again, the photo is composed very well through utilizing luminance and corners. There is multiplicity in the photo that keeps my eyes moving around. I really love the sky, as cliche as it is, and feel that the moon is mysterious itself. I am very intrigued by the way that you captured the photo and the moon's position behind the clouds.
Photo #12 is my favorite self-portrait of you. You look like you are just waking up to the sun shining on your face. You seem happy just to be alive, and it gives off very good vibes.
My favorite photo is 17 because of the way the moon illuminates the surrounding clouds. I think the black and white really adds to this effect while color may have taken away from it. I also like the illuminated paneling on the building. All of the qualities add to a strong sense of mystery in the photo. I can’t quite see what is going on in the bottom right-hand corner, but think the darker values create a balanced composition. I also really like how the smoke is illuminated in photo 8.
