For photos #1, 16, and 18, I used the photo editing app "piclay." It is an awesome app that allows you to layer different photos on top of one another and adjust the opacity to your liking. I really enjoyed playing around with this app to create the feeling of reflecting on a specific memory in the past, which often becomes vague and mixed together with present time. Piclay also allows you put several different "sheet" effects over your photos. I used the blurring sheet on photo 17 to not only make the image appear older, but blurred in my memory.

    2. I actually used the photo processing app "Picfx" that Professor Berkowitz recommended. It has tons of filters in different categories you should download it! I used the Valentine filter for both, but the one of just my legs and the various items on the ground that I laid on top of the original photo is not as red because I lowered the intensity of the filter on that photo. I also used "Facetune" for the leg photo and applied the filter "beige 2" to give it more of an antique look. I also lowered the saturation of both. The app I used to place the photo on top of the other is called "piclay" it's great and really easy to use. It allows you to adjust the opacity of each photo and even erase certain parts of the photo that you don't want to be obscured, which is what I did to my face in the corner (the clutter in the overlapping photo blocked my face so I erased it just on that portion of the frame). Hope this helps!

  2. I love your work so much and I just notice the app that professor Berk recommended, I will try that app later. Your first image was so amazing and I was always use PS to put one image upon the other one, and I can see that works very well. Even though there just have seven images, honestly each one are perfect. Also I really like filters you use in image, especially for image 5 to 7. I think the filter enhance the meaning and content that each photo wanna express. For example, image 6 has the old and traditional feeling, color of skin, floor and filter are mix together, seems so natural. And image 7 looks like ghastly and blood-curdling, deep color filter play up the environment. So I'd like to vote your POW after you post all images you have. Nice job!

  3. Photo 11 looks amazing- it reminds me of the TV show Friends or Seinfeld because it shoots up towards buildings and it is not in perfect focus. I loved those shows growing up and it immediately took me back to a rainy day during my childhood! I also really enjoyed photo 15. I went down south every summer growing up, and just by looking at this picture I can feel the clammy air and smell low tide that I am so accustomed to. Overall, my favorite picture is 2 because I feel like it truly captures these men performing what is not only their job but their passion as well. It looks like you traveled back in time and went into a 1950's Spanish neighborhood and took a picture of these performers. Great job!

  4. All of your photos are well shot and framed that each of them brings something interesting to the table. I love the layout of photo 18. The colors are very pretty emphasizing the sunset really well. The sky almost looks fake with the texture and detail that is emphasized. I also enjoy photo 20 with how you took the photo. Using the sunglasses to add an extra detail to the photo works really well. It’s like we actually get to see through your eyes in this photo. I think photo 9 works really well in how you framed it as well. Even though the building as a whole is interesting, my eyes are immediately drawn to and follow the pattern up the corner. I think this was a great catch for a photo and you colored it very well. Out of all of these I’d have to narrow down my favorite as photo 6. There is such a story to be told with this photo. Your attention to detail in this photo is obvious and the framing is great. I like how there is a blue tint through the entire photo. It adds more character to the photo, rather than just being black and white. There’s a reason to each part of this photo and I think it works wonderfully. I would vote photo 6 as POW.

  5. All of your photos are really great! And I loved you overlaps some of the photos together. I think you did really good job. And you also have really good colors in 7,9, and 21. Especially in photo 7, I really enjoyed a contrast between a banana and road. The yellow color is popping out from the road because of the contrast. Also, photo 18 has really great color quality. And the textures are great. I want to vote for 18.

  6. Lauren, as I commented earlier, your photo 1 is amazing! You put a lot of efforts to make this photo vintage and mysterious. Overlapped photos look so great. For photo 2, I believe you blurred surroundings which made audiences focus on you! Photo 19 reminds me Zen. Also, Instagram-like square photos such as 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 20, look great! I would like to vote photo 20 as your POW because a mixture of purple and blue is great. You smartly placed a person inside your sunglasses' frame. Photo inside photo! Again, I am voting photo 20 as your POW! Great photos!

  7. Photo 21 has a strong element of passion to it. It reminds me of waking abruptly from a vivid, visually surreal dream. I love the values in the photo, and I think the extreme contrast creates tension and enhances the drama. I would have to vote for 18 as my favorite. Did you overlay another photo on this? The clouds appear surreal in this photo as well. The vintage feel to the photo is nice, the processing you utilized makes the photo appear worn and old, creating a memory-evoking scene. I think a lot of people would connect with this photo because many people have seen dramatic sunsets like these. However, the structure takes the composition to another level and creates mystery and depth.

  8. I love your use of light and colors! Almost every photo is very visually appealing here. Awesome work. I like number 16 a lot. I think you capture the "vintage/memory" theme here really well. 6 is a great photo as well. I like that you are in the shadows and you have to look hard at the photo to understand everything in it. I also really love the piclay effect you used on some of your photos. I would choose number 1 as your photo of the week. The editing is fantastic and really tells the viewer a story.
