In photos 6 and 11, I used the doge and burn effect in Snapseed. I did most of my processing in this app. Most of the photos are desaturated. In photos 9, 12, 14, 16, 17 and 18, I used the vignette and the Retrolux filter in Snapseed. In photos 7 and 8, I used the noir filter in the iPhone 5c photo editor.

  1. Your first photo is extremely interesting in that it’s like there are two pictures in this photo. First the window frame is very detailed and has a great color to it. I like the reds and purples of the photo, making the picture warm. Then looking out the window the outside is completely contrasting with the rest of the photo. The green bounces off really well with the colors of the frame. I think you did a wonderful job with editing this photo and many of your other photos. You work really well with color. I like the way you took your self-portrait for photo 20. Not only do we get to see your face but we also see your hair and your arm through out the other pieces of mirror. You colored it well too, in that there’s a yellowish hue that appears through out, working with a vintage feel. Photo 11 may be my favorite because the photo is colored really well in adding a vintage theme to it. The building in the background looks like it’s something out of a ghost story. It’s faded out just enough that it looks like you added the building in after taking the original photo. The light pink/purple hues give the photo an extra bit of energy that I really enjoy. I would vote photo 11 as POW.

  2. Becca, your photo 3, 4, and 5 seem like you captured the same Halloween-themed barn, but since you explored it with different angles and closenesses, it was really interesting to see all these photos. Your self-portrait, photo 20, is also awesome. Your blonde hair and some yellow objects captured match each other very well while red, mint, and other colors show variety of colors. For photo 1, I'm guessing the barn/house located inside the frame is the same one you have captured for photo 3, 4, and 5? A lacy curtain and all small objects make it interesting and literally I examined each one thoroughly. As Morgan commented already, the window frame is really good. Decals on the window is a humorous touch. I would love to vote your photo 1 as POW. Wonderful photos!

  3. It seems like you have a story some of your pictures. I see some halloween stuffs in photo 3 and 4. And photo 7,15,and16 look a little bit scary to me. I think the colors and the composition helped to create this kind of feeling. Photo 16 feels like really lonely. I also see a light on the car but stopped it. I definitely feel some scary in this photo. I think you did really good job on editing colors. And I see that you played with different angles as well. I want to vote for 16.

  4. I can see your storyline of these photos, good job. No. 1 and 2 are both have sunlight coming through window, one is harder and the other one is softer. I prefer the softer one because I like the feeling of sunshine reflected on the canvas, it is absolutely a kind of art. And soft light can create the old feeling. No. 5 is the awesome one. I'm not sure whether you deliberately deepened dark yellow filter but the feeling was great. Haunted houses like abandoned for a long time, maybe it's the place where children played when they were child. That's really awesome. No 7 and 11 also have similar feeling for me. No. 12 is my favorite one. I think you use the minimalism style and that feel so great. The high contrast in No 17 create the time feeling. So I'd like vote the No 5 as POW.

  5. I really like photo 1, particularly because I cannot see beyond the window- which is only halfway opened. Love the tapestry too, by the way. I also like photo 2 because I really enjoy taking pictures with extreme sunlight as well. The sun is just so mysterious in itself and I think it brings a lot of power to a photo when you know how to process it the right way. Photo number 5 and 7 are very vintage- number 7 remind me of the house from The Wizard of Oz that collapsed, haha. I really admire how you frame and process your photos. I pick number 19 for your photo of the week because it's mysterious (the structure is obstructing my view of the house that is behind it). And i don't know whether it was intentional or not, but It is a very gloomy-type of photo that leaves me feeling scared and confused.

  6. Hi! Some interesting photos you got there! You used color as well as black and white, creating variety into this collection. You frame your photos really well -- I am attempting to work on this technique.
    Photos 1, 3, 7, 9, 11, 17, and 19 drew me in.
Photo 9 – Love it! And definitely gives off a nostalgic feel. Who is he? What is he thinking about? Where is he going?
    Photo 17 – Beautiful colors.
Photo 11 – I think this photo is the most vintage. The varied colors throughout the photo made my eyes wander all around the place. The building is not completely centered, and there is also an angle to it, creating depth. It seems like the photo was taken from a long time ago – could’ve fooled me! I am voting Photo 11 as your POW! (:

  7. I enjoyed the nature elements of many of your photos. Especially in shots 8,9,15, and 18. I think you did a great job of framing these photos as well. Many of them made me want to see what was beyond the corners of the shot. My favorite and choice for your POW is #7. It definitely kept my attention and made me wonder, what happened to the structure and its former residents?
