Recipe #4
I was in Florida recently and walking around at night exploring. I came across a museum that had this red light back drop behind all the pillars. I thought the color worked perfectly with the gold pillars in contrasting between the two. Continuing to use the app Camera+ I took the photo in the app. I wanted to angle the photo so the symmetry of the photo was equal on both sides. Then I went and added the Vibrant filter to the photo, enhancing the red and darkening the gold. This allowed for the red to come to the surface a bit more and become more appealing.
Firstly I want to say I really like your Angle and composition of your works. Bright color is constitute the main factors of the photos. My favorite photos are No. 2, 4, 6 and 9. The SP I like is because of the angle. Honestly few people would take selfie use this kind Angle, to but it look good. For Pic 4, The gold and red create the grand momentum, a effective color contrast. Sixth is my favorite, first of all I like comic books, secondly, many kinds of color get a unique effect, as if these colors constitute all comic world. Pic 9: Red dot looks like burning flame in the combustion, very realistic and vivid, like a mural. So for POW I wanna vote the Pic 6.
ReplyDeleteYou used a very low angle for your self portrait, photo 2, while capturing a red structure together. The composition is very interesting. Photo 3 displays a very interesting street art which I enjoyed looking at. For photo 6, I realized that there are two things audiences can look at. First, I was surprised that organized comic books look artistic and colorful. Second, a bookshelf itself consists of yellow and blue which are opposite/complimentary colors. Additionally, photo 9 consists of warm colors and I don't really know what this object is. For photo 13, floodlights illuminated. You mixed warm and cool colors so beautifully. The very-back light is red/orange, and the small lights are blue and green. At last, I would vote for photo 6 as your POW.
ReplyDeleteYour colors get my attention as soon as I looked at your pictures. They are really vivid colors such as photo 8,9, and 10. I like how you angled the pictures differently. Also, photo 6 and 7 is very traditional way of taking photo without using any angle just straight forward. However, I really like these pictures because these have very nice color quality. Photo 6 shows busy movement since the picture is full of books without empty space. And photo 7 shows busy movement on the bottom and provide a break on the top. I liked your composition on these pictures. I would like to vote for photo 6.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on all of your photos! Photo 3 looks like it should be somewhere in Mexico. It seems to be weathered, and as if someone put a lot of effort and work into something that people literally walk all over. I think photo 10 is very interesting as well. It reminds me of seeing tentacles in pink sea foam. Since there is no other context as to what it is, people are required to make their imaginations work to try and decipher what is in that cup. Overall, I think that photo 6 is the best shot you took. It is so simple- it only consists of books and a shelf, and you shot it with no angles- but it seems very complex. I feel like i am at a bazaar and I am trying to find the best book to bring back home. The colors not only of the books but of the shelf as well make me feel like it is a children's area, but it is clearly very tall. Great job!
ReplyDeleteMorgan, I immediately was drawn to the vibrancy of color in your photos. While you have photos that have a mellow/ambient type feel such as (1,12,16,& 17), the pop of color in the other photos really helped me see how color and luminance can change the overall mood. My absolute favorite picture is number 2. I love the red contrasting with your blonde hair and the vague reflection in your sunglasses. This picture is composed very nicely with an interesting angel of view and just enough environment to make me question where exactly you are and how you are feeling. I am also particularly drawn to photo number 6 because of all of the colors my eyes are drawn to. Rather than just being a boring old/vintage book case the colors make me think you're In a nursery or a book store, and that those are some pretty fun books. I also really like photo number 9 because I can't tell what it is but it is just so interesting ! The vivid red flowing into the orange almost looks like lava pouring out onto sand. I am very curious about what this photo is of, exactly. You really do a spectacular job of establishing the two way artist-viewer communication. I love your work! Photo of the week is number 2.
ReplyDeletePhotos 4, 7, and 11 have really nice color and composition. I would have to vote 4 as my favorite photo for a few reasons. The color is very vibrant and eye-catching. It is also difficult to tell where this photo was taken. It looks like it may have been inside of a dance hall, but there are no people in the scene. It also looks like a somewhat large-scale photo, which makes me question more why people would not be in it. I love the green of the leaves against the wall in photo 7. It is simple, but not simplistic, and also serves as a strong composition. I really like the composition of 11 a lot, it looks like it could be an album cover.
ReplyDeleteI think 4, 8, and 17 are your best photos from this set. 4 would be my photo of the week for you. The angle is different - not straight on - and the light behind the pillars is sort of soft. It's interesting to look at. The colors in 8 are amazing and 17 has a lot of mystery to it.
