Recipe
For all photos, I used a Snapseed application. Unfortunately, I was unable to use a Picfx since it was not available for my Android phone.
For photo 8, I used the fourth vintage filter on Snapseed.
I placed a vinyl in front of objects, so it adds a soft touch to photo 20. Then, I applied the third vintage filter on that.
Through photo 13 through 19 are named "people series", so you can find a person or body parts for each photo, and I used either retrolux or vintage filters (tip: if you can't find him/her, enlarge each photo).

  1. I really like the filter on photo 1. It adds an extra layer to the photo that allows for the photo to appear like it was taken a while ago. I like photo 8 for the same reason because even though 8 has more color, it still looks like it was taken years ago. I also enjoy how 8 has a full reflection in the glass that mirrors what’s going on in the tank. It adds a sense of depth to the photo we normally wouldn’t see. The nature featured in photos 10 and 11 work really well in defining space and giving a great amount of detail to the photos. I like how the colors stay consistent with one another in both 10 and 11. My favorite photo is 12. The sticks all blend together but almost feel like they’re going to come out of the photo. The photo feels very 3 dimensional and I think you framed it wonderfully. The red and silver in the background work perfectly in pushing the front of the picture perfectly. I think you colored it in a way that everything can contrast. I would vote photo 12 for POW.

  2. I liked how you were playing with different angles in your pictures. Also, a reflection looks really nice on photo 9. I liked how you zoomed up the reflection on the water instead of capturing the whole environment. I think you always have some theme for your self-portrait. your facial expression is really good! And you have set up some objects around you in your first self-portrait. It makes me think what you were trying to say through this picture. I am guessing that is something like a kid yogurt? maybe you have addicted to it?
I want to vote for your first self-portrait.

  3. I really like your first two images because it gave me a fascinating feeling. Especially for the first one, it highlighted the out-fashioned style in the photo through dark yellow color and some deliberate fold, but I have to say this is my favorite one. Photo 2 looks like in a backyard, It has a feeling of a dream, I think it has to do with the degree of saturation and contrast. I also really like the image 9, the environment reflect by water on ground really attract my attention a lot, I really love that kind of style. Sometimes people can't distinguish which side is the real world because mirror world sometimes more attractive than the real world. Your selfie is perfect too, I really like the first selfie because of those drinks played some roles in your photo but I can't figure out, But it looks so cute! Love that. I'd like vote No. 1 as POW.

  4. You use geometrical shapes very well in your photos, such as in photos 12 and 18. You have a unique angle of view in many of your shots, specifically in photo 19. You can tell that you are about to walk down the stairs and out the door- but as the viewer I am unsure of where you are headed. The photo is visually intriguing. You then present us with an opposite angle in photo 17- the three photos of the steps would be great as a set together. Altogether, my favorite photo is 13 because although it is simplistic, I can still make out a shadow of a hand behind what seems like a white cloth. A wide range of things come into my imagination, some scary and some soothing. Using black and white was definitely a good choice for this photo- I choose photo 13 for your POW.

  5. Hi! I admire and am envious of your work. Many of the things that you use in your photos I have been trying to work on like framing. You do an excellent job at using angles to view ordinary things in unusual ways. As such, you create illusions of depth. You use just about the perfect amount of lighting, which is superb!

    I want to speak to photo 1, 3, 7, 13, and 14.

Photo 1 - Wooo -- the story behind this photo. What is it? The open gate invites the viewer in (crap, this sounds almost ominous), and makes the viewer wonder about what is on the other side? Although I can kind of see what is at the end of the other side, I still think that there is a possibility that something unusual can occur through that empty space as I get to the end of that path. I assume you used a filter? The coloring of the filter creates almost a vintage look, although I know that you took the photo in the modern day period.
Photo 3 – The tree brand and the house/barn are ordinary objects, but somehow the blend of the two together and how you framed it made the photo!
Photo 7 & 14– Framing down well. I have a problem with trying to take in too much in a photo and at the end of the day, not capturing anything interesting. You used lines to “standardize” (not sure if this is the right term) the photo. For photo 14, the woman in front of the photo adds mystery to the mix. Where is she going? Where was she coming from? And the timing that you took the photo in is on point.
Photo 13 – What is that? The use of lighting to capture reflection is so well done!
Photo 7 as your POW! But I love all of your photos.

  6. I really liked how capturing architecture was a theme throughout the majority of your photos. To me, this is a great way of capturing memory/vintage shots as architecture is a common element when people think about memory. My favorite photo of yours and choice for POW is #9 because it was so unexpected. When I first looked at the shot, my eye was drawn to the greenhouse in the background. As my gaze shifted to look at the next shot, I was surprised to see the reflection of the tree in the water. It was so simple, yet effective in adding a mysterious element and keeping the viewer attentive to your shot.

  7. I like the colors you use in your photos. 14 caught my eye. It looks very vintage, and the woman's outfit adds to that. 13 is also very interesting because it's hard to tell what we are looking at. It's almost creepy looking. Overall I like your use of focus in your photos. I would vote for 9 as your photo of the week. There is a lot going on here but you do a great job of framing and bringing our attention inwards.

  8. I really like several of your compositions, especially photos 7, 8, 9, and 14. Photo 7 has an interesting near/far effect. The rust red colors in the photo really create a strong image overall. The color in photo 8 is very unusual and interesting. I like the bright red of the flower against the green/cool colored tint of the overall photo. The composition of 9 is nice because it allow to see both the ground and the sky in a reflection. I would like to vote for photo 14 as my favorite. The photo is reminiscent of a Wes Anderson set piece. The three triangles centered in the photo create a harmonious anchor for the other elements in the photo.
