Christie, I really like your chapter 2 photos titled Seeing Through. All of them are beautifully and interestingly composed. For the first photo I have seen it from your past collection looks mysterious yet classy. It is hard to tell whether you are reflected on mirror or not. Maybe you are standing behind the bars? Although I have seen your fourth photo before - I remember I voted it as your POW, it still looks mysterious and visually=appealing. I am wondering his or her identity and the picture-inside-picture composition is really witty. Finally, I would like to vote your third photo from chapter 2 as your POY (picture of year)! While you capture many elements into this photo, every little one complements each other. About a half of photo displays a bridge. The iron grating adds cold feeling, but colorful lights or something enhances bright mood. A standing person showcases Take Me There mentality. I forgot to mention that due to trees, this photo shows a perfect balance of city and nature. Again, I am voting the third one from chapter 2 as your POY. Great job!
Christie, your portfolio is amazing. The way you compose your photos helps to maintain a sense of mystery that we focused on in the first critique. I love your framing techniques and the way you use color and light depending on the subject. The low saturation levels in your photos evoke a serene mood, at least for me. Also, I admire your self portraits. Because your face is blocked in some way they raise questions for me as a viewer. Overall you did a fabulous job this semester, and you seem to have no trouble getting your audience to resonate a specific/intended way. For your POY, i am going to vote for the photo of you on the bed with your legs in the air. I voted for this photo in the last critique, and it is still my favorite. It is so chic and vintage, like a Marilyn Monroe picture from the past. I love it!
What I like most about all of your photos is that they all work well together and your portfolio proves that. They're very artistic that keep a sense of mystery through each and represents your point of view. You have an interesting artistic eye that comes out really well in your photos. My favorite photo of yours is back from your first submission in the chapter Illuminate with photo 3 of the feathers. I enjoy how the photo makes it look like they are just hanging there with no support. You also did a wonderful job of editing it. I'm voting that as your photo of the year. Good work!!
I think you did really good job on composing the objects and editing colors. Your colors are amazing!! It looks like it all have vintage feeling in your picture somehow which I really enjoyed. And I especially like your chapter 3 and 4 a a lot. I personally love flowers so chapter 3 gets my attention right away. I stayed in that chapter for a while. And your chapter 4 looks very interesting. you are showing part of your face which makes your photo more interesting. I would vote for chapter 4.
Hi! Christie, you mastered the Impact theme. I scrolled through your photos and immediately felt my heart gradually picking up speed. It may be the colors you used? In addition, there is a vintage feel that I love to many of your photos. First chapter, first photo immediately caught my eyes -- framing and toning are superb! I love the blossoming chapter. They're all quality photos with stories behind them. The pinkish tint to photo 5 in this chapter offers the viewer with variety in the collection. As for your POW, I think Chapter 1, photo 1 gets it(:
Christie, I love that all of your photos have a vintage quality to them. I think that the composition and framing of your pictures were great and I thought that you chose interesting subjects to capture. My favorite chapter in your portfolio is definitely "seeing through." I thought that the photos in this section really captured the mystery element of our assignments this semester. My choice for your POY is #4 in the seeing through chapter. Great job this semester!
Christie, I really enjoyed seeing your photos throughout the semester. I agree with Katie that your photos have a nice vintage quality to them. I would have to vote for the 4th photo in Sense of Self as my favorite, the photo has a really nice classic feel to it and the processing is gorgeous. I also really love the first photo. How did you create that effect? There is also a nice variety in your photos, while also having a unified style.
Awesome job on your final portfolio! Your pictures really made me think what it was you were trying to capture. I loved your chapter blossoming, I think the flowers were beautiful and I really like the way you capture them. In particular i loved the 1st and 4th in that chapter.I would vote the 4th in blossoming as your pow.
